TOP SEED NICOLA THROUGH TO LAST EIGHT
OF ENGLISH WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
Leading qualifier and Kent champion, Nicola Timmins (Sene Valley) stayed in top form, winning her morning match against Amy Yeates 6 and 5 and her afternoon tie 4/3 to face rising star Naomi Edwards (Yorkshire) in the quarter-finals of the English women's (close) amateur championship at Aldeburgh Golf Club.
Emma Duggleby (Malton & Norton) stumbled over the first nine holes in the morning round but came back from four holes down at the 10th to win on the 19th against Tracey Boyes (Meon Valley), thanks to a four-under-par run which included eagles at the 10th and 11th.
In the afternoon, Emma won on the 13th green against Helen Batt.
