LOUISE KENNEY HAS OUT OF
BOUNDS SEVEN AT LAST

Louise Kenney from Pitreave came to grief with an out of bounds, quadruple bogey 7 at the par-3 finishing hole at Lindrick. She was so shell-shocked after handing in her card that she told inquirers she had had an 84. In fact her score was an 82.
"What a heartbreak at the last hole, " said the Fife girl. "I had a terrible lie under the lip of a greenside bunker. I thinned it out, right over the green and into a flower bed in front of the clubhouse. There is no white line or no posts saying the flower bed is out of bounds but it does say so on the sheet of local rules.
"I had to go back to the bunker, place the ball in the nasty lie I had before, count a shot penalty and play on."
Louise had three double-bogey 6s at the second, ninth and 10th.
"I was in bunkers at each of them. In fact, I took a lot of shots in bunkers all day," said Louise, a former Scottish girls champion.
She had halves of 40 (four over) and 42 (five over).
