THE PUTTER OF TINY FEET
Nick Produces Fourth Minor
28th July 2003: Nick Faldo and his wife Valerie are delighted to announce the arrival of their first child. Emma Scarlett was born at 4.25am this morning in London’s Portland Hospital weighing 7lb exactly. Both mother and baby are extremely well. If history is anything to go by, this latest addition to Team Faldo could spell success on the course for the proud father.
Nick won his first Open in 1987 just a year before the birth of first daughter Natalie. His son Mathew was born in the same year as he won his first Masters back in 1989 and he defended the title, along with winning the Open at St Andrews the following year. His third child Georgia was born just a year before taking his third Open in 1992.
With a top ten finish in the Open Championship at Royal St.George’s Nick has shown the world he still has what it takes to be a winner.
“Claiming another major title would of course be immensely fulfilling for me, but all that comes second to the joys of fatherhood,” said Nick from his home in Old Windsor, Berkshire. “Whatever happens on the golf course now or in the future, Valerie and I are just delighted to have a healthy, happy baby to complete our life together.”
Globet.com is offering odds of 500/1 on baby Faldo winning a Major by 2025.
