BABE ZAHARIAS TROPHY TOURNAMENT

JULIE WINS AT WHITEKIRK
Julie Birdsall-White (The Roxburghe) won the Babe Zaharias Trophy women's open golf tournament at Whitekirk Golf Club with a scratch score of 77 - four shots ahead of Sheila Cuthbertson (Peebles).
Kirsty Inkpen (Duns) made it a Borders 1-2-3 by finishing third with a 79.
The tournament is played annual in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief funds and the magnificent trophy was won by Babe Zaharias during her brilliant golfing career which was cut short by cancer. The trophy was given for annual competition in Scotland by her husband George.
