SCOTTISH UNDER-21 GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
QUEEN SETS PACE AT KIRKCALDY
Curtis Cup reserve Clare Queen from Drumpellier found her best form of the season to set the first-round pace in the BP Scottish Under-21 girls' open stroke-play championship at Kirkcaldy today .
Miss Queen shot a three-under-par 69 to be the clubhouse leader by a shot from Heather MacRae (Dunblane) who was runner-up to Jenna Wilson after a play-off at Kilmacolm last year.
Welsh left-handed Stephanie Evans was in third place with a 71 as the first round drew to a close. Defending champion Jenna Wilson from Strathaven was well to the form on the 72 mark.
There are another 18 holes to be played today before the final round tomorrow morning.
