GIRLS' HOME INTERNATIONALS
SCOTS HEADING FOR WOODEN SPOON
Scotland were heading for a last-of-four, wooden spoon placing in the girls' home golf internationals at Strathaven today after losing the final day singles 4-2 to Ireland.
The Scots would have to win all three foursomes to score their first win of the three-day programme, having lost 5-4 to Wales and 7 1/2-1 1/2 to England.
Rachael Livingstone (Musselburgh) and Gemma Webster (Hilton Park) were the Scots' only singles winners against the Irish.
Defending champions England were surprisingly trailing 3 1/2-2 1/2 to Wales after the morning singles in the other match.
