ANN RAMSAY LEADING QUALIFIER BY THREE SHOTS
Kirriemuir's Ann Ramsay was leading qualifier by three strokes for the match-play stages of the St Andrew Links Trust women's open Strathtyrum Trophy tournament. She had roudns of 73 over the Eden Course and 78 over the New.
Karen Marshall (Baberton), Laura Collin (John O'Gaunt) and young Rebecca Watson (Elie & Earlsferry Ladies), whose 13-year-old sister Susan is making her debut for Scotland in the girls' home internationals at Strathaven this week, tied for second best on the 154 mark.
Karen Marshall's Joan, captain of the victorious Scotland veterans' team at Strathmore Golf Centre last week, was also a qualifier.
The No 32 qualifier was Valerie Kirkwood (Furness) on 185.
