WEST COAST LADIES TOUR
SUSIE EARNS A FEW DOLLARS MORE
California-based Susie Laing from Troon finished 16th in the 2004 Reno Women's Open tournament, the latest event on the West Coast Ladies Golf Tour, at Wolf Run Golf Club, Reno in Nevada.
Susie earned $460 with scores of 76, 75 and 39 for a 45-hole total of 190.
Following lightning strikes in the area and a suspension of play, which meant there was not enough daylight for everyone to complete the final round, the players voted by a big majority to shorten the event from 54 to 45 holes.
Jo Clingan from Gloucester finished joint 17th on 192 with scores of 77, 78 and 37.
Natalie Tucker (Indiana) won the $3,400 top prize with 67, 73 and 37 for 177 - one shot ahead of runner-up Becky Lucidi (California), 72, 71 and 35.
