SUSIE'S DISAPPOINTING START IN PHOENIX

Former Scotland amateur internatinal Susie Laing was tied for 28th place at the end of the first round of the Vistal Classic - the latest event on the West Coast Ladies Tour - at Vistal Golf Club, Phoenix in Arizona.
Troon exile Susie, who has lived in San Francisco since her college days there, shot an eight-over-par 79 round the 6,463yd course, one of the longest of the season on this women's pro mini-tour.
She now has a fight on her hands, even to recoup her entry fee of $375.
Canadian Alena Sharp from Hamilton, Ontario set a course record of six-under-par 65.
Lisa Meredith-Seary from Reading, the only other British player apart from Miss Laing, was joint 19th after a 77.
