NO PAY FOR SWELTERING SUSIE
San Francisco-based Susie Laing from Troon finished out of the money in the latest West Coast Ladies Golf Tour event, the Vistal Classic at Vistal Golf Club, Phoenix in Arizona.
In temperatures touching 110 degrees, Susie had rounds of 79, 76 and 80 for a 54-hole total of 235 for tied 32nd place behind five-times tour winner Alena Sharp from Hamilton, Ontario.
Alena scored six-under-par 65 (a course record), 75 and 70 for a three-under-par total of 210 and a six-stroke win from Nicole Cutler from Colorado and Jennifer Perri from Minnesota.
First prize was $ 3,400.
Lisa Meredith-Seary from Reading finished tied 11th on 221 to earn $680 and Jo Clingan from Gloucester, like Susie Laing, was outside the money in joint 28th place on 232.
