FIFE WOMEN'S COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP


DEFENDING CHAMPION THROUGH
TO FIFE WOMEN'S SEMI-FINALS

Defending champion Katrina Milne (Dunfermline) is through to Sunday morning's semi-finals of the Fife women's county golf championship at Elie.
Miss Milne will play Fiona Lockhart (St Regulus) in the first tie while former Scottish champion Elaine Moffat (St Regulus) will play the experienced Lorna Bennett (Ladybank), multi-winner of the Fife county title in the 1980s, 1990s and again in 2003, in the second semi-final.
Surprise results in the first round were the defeats of top seed Emma Wilson, playing over her home course, and 16-year-old Krystle Caithness (St Regulus), the Scottish girls' match-play champion. Mrs Wilson was beaten 7 and 5 by Lorna Fury (Thornton), the 1999 Fife champion,and Krystle lost at the 20th to Lorna Bennett.
