FIFE WOMEN'S COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

EMMA AND KRYSTLE GO OUT
FIRST-ROUND SURPRISES
Top seed Emma Wilson, playing over her home course, fell at the first hurdle in the match-play stages of the Fife women's county golf championship at Elie today.
Emma, the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association chairman, was beaten 7 and 5 by Lorna Fury (Thornton), the 1999 champion.
Other surprise results included the 20th hole victory of Lorna Bennett (Ladybank), a multi-winner of the Fife title in the 1980s, 90s and again in 2003, over the Scottish girls' champion Krystle Caithness (St Regulus).
