EUROPEAN SENIOR WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

MOIRA THOMSON TIED 12TH

Moira Thomson from North Berwick, the only Scot in the field, was tied for 12th place at the end of the first round of the European senior women's amateur championship at Chantilly, France on Wednesday.
Moira had a round of nine-over-par 82 but was only six shots off the pace being set by two French players, the redoubtable Cecilia Mourgue d'Algue and M-Christin Ubald Bocquet.
