LGU CHALLENGE BOWLS
TROPHY WINNERS AT FORRESTER PARK.
Scotland senior international player Helen Faulds (Douglas Park), teenager Emma Fairnie (Peebles), winner of the Border women’s county championship for a second year in a row, and Isobel Millar (Vale of Leven) were the trophy winners at the LGU Challenge Bowls’ competition at Forrester Park near Dunfermline today.
In the Silver Division Helen won the Wallace Williamson Bowl with the lowest scratch score of the day – an 80 (which was four over the CSS).
Miss Fairnie, a golf scholarship student at Loretto School, was pipped by one shot for that trophy but her handicap deduction of six enabled her to win the LGU Challenge Bowl in the Silver Division with a net 75 (better inward half).
Isobel Millar scored a double whammy in the Bronze Division, winning both the Bronze Scratch Cup and the LGU Challenge Bowl for the best net return. Isobel had a gross round of 105 and, with a deduction of 23, a net score of 82.
