SCOTTISH GIRLS' INTER-DIVISION TEAM TOURNEY
EAST FAVOURITES FOR TITLE
East, whose line-up includes Sally Watson, the 13-year-old South Queensferry girl who reached the semi-finals of the Scottish women’s championship at Cruden Bay, will start favourites to win the inaugural BP Scottish girls’ inter-division championship at Ballumbie Castle, Dundee on Saturday and Sunday.
East will play North while West play South on Saturday afternoon (2.30). The winners will meet on Sunday morning (10.30) for the new trophy and the losers will play off for third place.
Each match will be decided by three foursomes ties. Girls who have played for their county at adult level are debarred, which means that North cannot call on Carly Booth, Kelsey MacDonald and Roseanne Niven, three of the best young golfers in the Scotland, while East are deprived of the services of Scottish Under-16 champion Krystle Caithness.
The teams are:
EAST: Amanda Edwards, Hannah Harvey, Rachael Livingstone, Jane Turner, Rebecca Watson, Sally Watson.
NORTH: Ashton Ingram, Sally Kettlewell, Michell Macdonald, Laura Murray, Michele Thomson, Rebecca Wilson.
SOUTH: Isla Craigie, Amy Ford, Rachel Harvey, Ailsa Mitchell, Ashley Macdonald, Gillian Monteith.
WEST: Megan Briggs, Alison Lewis, Morag Macpherson, Pamela Pretswell, Vikki Smith, Debbie Wilson.
