US FUTURES TOUR
A FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR HEATHER
In contrast to Catriona Matthew's "rich pickings" on the LPGA Tour at the weekend, fellow Scot and former Scottish amateur champion Heather Stirling gained only $396 for a 32nd place tie in the Quality Concepts Kankakee Classic - the latest US Futures Tour event - at Saint Anne, Illinois.
Heather, from Stirling but now based in Florida, had rounds of 75, 75 and 73 for a total of 223.
Nicole Castrale from California won for the second week in a row with rounds of 66, 72 and 71 and a seven-under-par aggregate of 209. That earned her $9,800.
Canadian Alena Sharp was runner-up on 213 (72-69-72).
Linzi Morton from Alloa did not survive the cut after 36 holes.
