EUROPEAN GIRLS' TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

SCOTS LASSES QUALIFY IN FIFTH PLACE

Scotland's girls rose to the occasion in great style on the second day of the European girls' golf team championship at Lucerne Golf Club, Switzerland and qualified in fifth place for the championship match-play flight of eight.
Carly Booth (Comrie) shot a brilliant round of two-under-par 71 for an aggregate of 147 which placed her eighth equal in the stroke-play standings.
Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) shaved six shots off her first-day effort with a 72 for 150.
Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) improved by three shots with a 74 for 151.
Sally Watson (Elie & Earlsferry) recovered from a first-day 80 to return a 75 for 155.
