Clare Queen has a narrow lead over Jenna Wilson with only one counting tournament to go – the Ness Open at Inverness on August 28 – in the Paull and Williamsons’ Rankings for Scottish women’s amateur golf.
Strathaven member Jenna has won the last two designated 36-hole events, the Mary McCally Trophy and the Riccarton Rosebowl, over the past two Sundays, to close the gap at the top of the table to only 0.30 of a stroke.
Drumpellier’s Clare has an average of minus 2.20 shots in relation to CSS over 10 rounds.
Miss Wilson stands at minus 1.90 over 10 rounds.
Three times Scottish champion Anne Laing (Vale of Leven) is in third place with minus 0.50 of a stroke average.
