SCOTS VETERANS LOSE FIRST
MATCH AT HAYLING ISLAND
Scotland, bidding to complete a hat-trick of title wins in the Veteran Ladies Golf Assocation area team golf championship, were beaten 5-4 by North of England in their opening match at Hayling Island, Hampshire today.
The Scots won the foursomes 2-1 but only Pamela Williamson and Noreen Fenton added points to that total in the afternoon singles which North won 4-2 for a 5-4 match victory.

Singles: Hague bt Bennett 2 and 1, J Smith bt M Thomson 4 and 3, Kirk lost to Williamson 5 and 4, Lindley bt Tough 3 and 2, A Wood bt L Campbell 1 hole, E Elliott lost to Fenton 4 and 3 (4-2).
