WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS
SCOTLAND LEAD WALES 2-1 AFTER FOURSOMES
Scotland won a morning foursomes series for the first time in three days at the women's home international matches at Dundalk Golf Club, Ireland today.
They led Wales 2-1 going into the six singles. England, who lead the table with two wins to Scotland and Wales' one win apiece, took the foursomes 2-1 from Ireland.
Clare Queen and Jenna Wilson gave Scotland a good start to the decisive day by beating Sarah Jones and Lydia Hall by 3 and 2.
Kylie Walker and Gemma Webster, making her first appearance of the week, beat Sahra Hassan and Breanne Loucks by 4 and 2.
But Wales hit back to take the final foursomes, Stephanie Evans and Tara Davies beating Fiona Lockhart and Krystle Caithness by 2 and 1.
Scotland skipper Fiona Anderson resisted the temptation to give 14-year-old Sally Watson her women's international debut in the final set of singles but Gemma Webster was retained. Anne Laing, not fielded in the Friday foursomes, came back into the line-up in the singles.
Scottish champion Fiona Lockhart was left out of the singles.
