JORDAN STRUGGLES IN UNITED STATES
Fraserburgh’s Jordan Findlay is struggling to acclimatise to playing conditions on the American college golf circuit. In his latest tournament as a member of the East Tennessee State University team, Jordan finished 73rd in a field of 75 with scores of 81, 77 and 78 for a total of 20-over-par 236.
Findlay’s star team-mate, Welshman Rhys Davies, like Jordan a former British boys champion, finished third with 72, 67 and 69 for eight-under 208 – six shots behind the winner, Kyle Reifers (Wake Forest) - in the Mattaponi Springs Shoot-out at Mattaponi Springs, Virginia which finished today.
Over the 54 holes, Jordan had two double bogeys, 20 bogeys and only four birdies.
A third member of the East Tennessee State University team, Gareth Shaw from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, tied for seventh place on 212 with scores of 71, 70 and 71.
Irishman Cian McNamara, also of ETSU, came 46th on 226 with 78, 71 and 74.
