JACQUELINE IN BLAIRGOWRIE SEMI-FINALS
Leading qualifier Jacqueline Sneddon, playing over her home course, continued her good form in the match-play stages of the Perth & Kinross women’s county golf championship over Blairgowrie’s Lansdowne course today.
The youngster overpowered county secretary Dawn Butchart (Strathmore) by 5 and 3 – not always a good tactic to beat one of the organisers! – and then reached Sunday morning’s semi-finals with a two-hole win over Gillian Wallace (Glenisla), the No 8 qualifier.
Jacqueline will now play Jillian Milne (Craigie Hill who scraped through at the 19th in her quarter-final against Fiona Ramsay (Crieff).
Jane Yellowlees (Murrayshall), county champion in 1998 and 2001 and the No 2 seed, is also through to the last four.
