KAREN GIVES SECOND SEED LOUISE A FRIGHT

SCOTTISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Second seed Louise Kenney (Pitreavie) was taken to the 18th by Karen Marshall (Baberton) when the match-play stages got under way in the Scottish women's amateur championship at Dunbar.
Karen, who ousted the top seed, Clare Queen, 12 months ago at Cruden Bay, gave Louise a terrific match before losing by one hole. She was in a greenside bunker at the 18th.
Three times champion Anne Laing (Vale of Leven) was two down at the turn to 15-year-old Rebecca Wilson (Monfieth) before fighting back to  beat the youngster by 2 and 1
