NCAA DIVISION 1 WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

TARA RUNS UP A 9 IN NIGHTMARE 85
Tara Delaney had one of her worst rounds since she went to Kent State University, Ohio on the third day of the NCAA Division 1 women's college championship over the Ohio State University Scarlet course at Columbus.
The Irish international player shot a 13-over-par 85 to be in joint 102nd place on 21-over-par 237 with one round to go.
Tara started at the 10th and ran up double bogeys at the 11th and 17th - but much worse was to come. She had a quadruple bogey 9 at the long fourth and that seemed to dispirit her. Tara then bogeyed the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth for an "inward" half of 45. Her only bogey had come at the 14th.
Team-mate Becky Wood from Glossop had a 77 for 233 and a share of 77th place while Karen Delaney returned and 80 for 246 and joint 122nd place.
Duke have taken over the team leadership from Southern California.
