VIKKI HAS 75 ON COMEBACK ROUND

Vikki Laing, playing her first competitive round for several weeks, returned a three-over-par 75 in the first round of the Horseshoe Casino Futures Classic at Lost Marsh Golf Club, Hammond in Indiana today

The Musselburgh player started at the 10^th hole and reached her turn in 40 shots. She bogeyed the short 11^th, birdied the long 13^th and then ran up a triple bogey 7 at the par-4 15^th and dropped another shot at the 16^th to be four over par with nine to play.

Then the former Curtis Cup player, who has had a lean time since she turned professional, settled down to cover her remaining holes in one under par 35 with a birdie at the sixth.

American Lori Atsedes was the early leader with a 68.
