FIONA MACGREGOR'S THIRD SUCCESS

 

Fiona Macgregor (Thornhill), the leading qualifier, won the Dumfries-shire women's county championship for a third time at Lochmaben Golf Club today.

Fiona beat 14-year-old Southerness GC junior member Jordana Graham by 5 and 4 in the 36-hole final.

Fiona was four up after the first round but Jordana cut the lead to only one hole in the afternoon before Fiona pulled away again.

In the all-Lochmaben handicap championship final, Linda Walker beat Fiona Irvine by 2 and 1.
