ENGLISH U-16 BOYS' STROKE-PLAY

ONLY FOUR SCOTS BEAT THE CUT

 

ONLY four Scots survived the halfway cut in the McGregor Trophy English Under-16 boys' open stroke-play championship at Worthing Golf Club, Sussex today.

Players had to score 155 or better with their 36-hole aggregates to qualify for the final two rounds on Friday.

Sam Binning (Old Ranfurly) and Paul Shields (Kirkhill) made it through with ease on 147 and 148 respectively. Mark Bookless (Sandyhills) on 153 and Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) with 154 qualified with less to spare.

Oscar Sharpe (Minchinhampton) is the halfway leader with 70 and 72 for 142.
