GREAT ROUND BY GEMMA FAILS TO

INSPIRE SCOTS IN NETHERLANDS

 

 

A sparkling 69 by Gemma Webster (Hilton Park) failed to inspire Scotland in the first qualifying round of the European junior women’s team golf championship at Pan Golf Club in the Netherlands today.

The Scots must finished the 36-hole stroke-play test among the leading eight team to qualify for the championship match-play flight.

They start the second round in a share of 10th place on 383 – 26 shots behind leaders Spain, but within striking distance of Wales (376), Belgium (378) and Austria (378), the teams the Scots must overtake.

Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) had a 75 while Laura Murray (Alford) and Louise Fleming (The Roxburghe) both scores 79s.

Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle) had a disappointing 71 while Stirling University student Clare-Marie Carlton (Fereneze) had a non-counting 88.
