VIKKI JOINT 53^RD AT END OF OPENING DAY

Vikki Laing’s first-round 75 saw her finish the opening day in joint 53^rd place in the Horseshoe Casino Futures Classic over the Lost Marsh golf course at Hammond, Indiana on Friday.

It was the Musselburgh player’s first competitive round for several weeks.

Lisa (Hackney) Hall from Stoke and Samantha Head from Bedford both finished on the three-under-par 69 mark to be sharing fourth place, one shot behind joint leaders Lori Atsedes (US), Katie Allison (US) and Korea’s Seul Ki Kim.

Brenda McLarnon from Belfast and Londoner Polly Willett were well down the list in a share of 118^th place on 81.
