ENGLAND SENIORS SQUEEZE INTO TOP
FLIGHT AT ROYAL WATERLOO

England squeezed into the last of the four positions in the top match-play flight of the inaugural European senior women’s amateur team golf championship at Royal Waterloo Golf Club, near Brussels, Belgium today.
England, with the five best individual scores out of six counting both days, totalled 809 at the end of the two stroke-play qualifying rounds, coming fourth behind Spain (798), France (800) and Italy (802).
Sweden finished one shot behind England on 810 and that relegated them to the Second Flight of the match-play stages.
England’s Chris Quinn shared the individual scoring honours with Ana Vilella (Spain) Both totalled 153 with rounds of 77 and 76.
England will play leading qualifiers Spain and France will play Italy in Thursday’s semi-finals.
