EUROPEAN WOMEN'S AMATEUR RANKINGS

ONLY FOUR SCOTS IN EUROPE’S
TOP-RANKED 100 FEMALE AMATEURS

Scotland has only four players in the top 100 of the European Golf Association final women’s amateur rankings for the year.
Curtis Cup reserve and Scottish Under-21 girls’ champion Krystle Caithness (St Regulus) is the highest place Scot in 41st spot, ahead of Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) in 57th place and Heather MacRae (Dunblane New), like Krystle a Curtis Cup reserve this year, in 80th place.
Carly Booth, 14-year-old Comrie player and Scottish Under-16 champion, now attending the David Leadbetter Golf Academy at Bradenton, Florida, was ranked 92nd, mainly on the strength her sixth place in the British women’s open amateur stroke-play.
The clear No 1 was Spanish teenager Belen Mozo who won the British women’s and girls’ open amateur titles within the space of a few weeks at Northern Ireland venues and then capped her year by winning the European women’s individual amateur title.
Bound for Southern California University, Belen finished with 233.13pt, well clear of second-ranked Isabelle Boineau (France) (179).
The European Golf Association rankings are based on points achieved for high finishes a maximum of four from 15 designated tournaments during the season.
