DAWN MARIE CONATY AND VICKI POWER
DOWN THE FIELD IN COLORADO
Ireland’s Dawn Marie Conaty and Vicki Power finished joint 36th and 77th respectively in the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate golf tournament at Highlands Ranch Golf Club, Colorado.
Dubliner Dawn, a junior year student at Memphis University, having transferred from North Carolina State, had rounds of 76, 76 and 77 for a total of 229 over the par-72, 6,399yd course.
Vicki, a student at Northern Arizona State University, had a disappointing tournament with scores of 84, 77 and 83 for a total of 244.
Rachel Newren (Brigham Young University) won the tournament with scores of 70, 69 and 67 for 10-under-par 206. She finished three shots ahead of Dawn Shockley (Denver) (70-70-69) with Chelsea Benton (Colorado State) third on 211 (71-69-71).
Memphis (895) finished fifth in the team event behind Denver University (849) who were playing over their home course. Northern Arizona (932) came 14th in the field of 16 college teams.
