Scottish girls golf champion Roseanne Niven found her feet on the American women's college golf circuit in her third tournament since she enrolled at the University of California Berkeley earlier this year.
The Crieff girl, only just turned 18, produced her two lowest scores so far - a 77 and a 74 - over a 6,121,yd, par-72 course to be in 19th position on 151 with one round to go in the Spartan Invitational tournament at Almaden Country Club, San Jose in southern California.
Jenelle Gomez (San Jose State University) has a three-shot lead with scores of 70 and 68 for 138.
California (595) are lying third in the team event behind San Jose State (581) and Colorado (592) in a field of 14 teams.
