SALLY AND SIAN IN ARIZONA TOP 20

Sally Hinton (Missouri State) from Bridgnorth, Shropshire and Sian Reddick (Baylor) from Folkestone were joint 15th on 151 with one round to go in the Rio Verde Invitational women’s college tournament over the Quail Run course (6,277yd, par 72) at Rio Verde, Arizona.
Sian dropped from joint fourth place overnight with a second-round 79 which included a triple bogey 7 at the 17th in amassing an inward total of 43 strokes. Her solitary birdie came at the sxith.
Sally had four birdies, at the ninth, 10th, 17th and 18th, but also seven bogeys spread out throughout her second-day card of 75 (38-37).
Hannah Burke (Baylor) from Hertfordshire repeated her opening 76 to be in joint 22nd position on 152 in a field of 107 players. Hannah birdied the sixth, ninth and 13th but had a double bogey 6 a the fifth in halves of 38.]
Stacey Rodger (Missouri State) from Mile Oak, Sussex is back in a share of 55th place on 156 after rounds of 79 and 77. She had only one birdie, at the third, in halves of 38 and 39.
Allison Martin (Baylor) leads the field by two shots with 69 and 72 for 141. She is two ahead of Sara Wikstrom (Arkansas-Little Rock (73-70).
Toledo (587) lead the team event from Baylor (589) with Arkansas-Little Rock (594) in third place. Missouri State (604) are lying joint fifth in a field of 18 teams.

TARA HAS A PAIR OF 76S IN FLORIDA

Germany’s Sandra Gall leads the Lady Gator Invitational by two shots with scores of 69 and 70 for one-under-par 139 over the University of Florida course (5,927yd, par-70) at Gainesville.
Irish international Tara Delaney (Kent State) from Carlow is in joint 32nd place with a pair of 76s for 152. Tara birdied the 12th and 17th but was dragged down by a double-bogey 5 at the short 15th in halves of 38.
Claire Starkie (Georgia State) from Skipton, Yorkshire is sharing 77th place after two 81s for 162. Claire had a triple bogey 7 at the fifth and double bogeys at the second and seventh in 42 to the turn in her second round.
Tara Delaney’s sister Karen, also a student at Ohio State, is having a tournament she will want to forget – quickly. She has scored 80 and 89 for 169 and is lying 86th in the field of 87 players.
Karen had seven double bogeys in her second-round halves of 45 and 44.
In her first round she had two quadruple bogeys and a double bogey.
Florida (585) lead the team event from Texas Christian (588) with Michigan State (589) third. Kent State (611) are lying 10th of 14. Georgia State (624) are in 13th place.


NATASHA MAKES TOP 20 AT SEBRING

Natasha Morgan (Lynn University) from South Wales finished 16th in the Springlake Invitational over the Panther Creek course (6,285yd, par-72) at Sebring, Florida.
Natasha scored 75 and 76 for 151.
Methodist University (596) overtook first-day leaders Lynn University (596) over the second round to win the team title.
Lynn University from Boca Raton, Florida are already missing the services of Katy McNicoll from Carnoustie. Katy had a knee operation recently and won’t play golf again before the summer.

TEXAS SHORT HOLES COSTLY FOR DANIELLE

Danielle McVeigh (Texas A&M) from Kilkeel, Northern Ireland came unstuck at two short holes on the inward half in the second round of the Texas A&M Memorial tournament at Traditions Golf Club, Bryan in Texas.
Danielle, lying joint 25th in the field of 81 players, has had rounds of 80 and 76 for 156. She birdied the fourth, seventh, 10th and 15th in halves of 36 and 40, running up a triple bogey 6 at the short 11th and a double-bogey 5 at the short 16th.
Paola Moreno (Southern California) leads the quality field on level par 144 for the 6,272yd (par-72) course. She has scored 74 and 70 to have a two-shot advantage over the former British girls open champion Anna Nordqvist (Arizona State) (73-73).
Arizona State (599) lead the 16-team event from Southern California (600).
