TWO SCOTS ENTER LEVERET TROPHY
AT FORMBY ON MARCH 31
Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm) and Claire Macdonald (Gullane Ladies) are the only two Scots who have entered the Leveret Trophy, one of the top 36-hole women's open tournaments in England.
Organised by former Scottish champion Fiona Anderson, the annual event at Formby Golf Club will be played on March 31 this year.
"It's a great field this year with eight players playing off a handicap of scratch or better and 57 with less than five of a handicap so that's going to be the limit," said Fiona.
"I deliberately arrange the Leveret Trophy for an early date on the golfing calendar. It means that those players who cannot nip off abroad and practise can still get a good competition under their bels before the 'Helen Holm' or their county championships or their nationals. Those who have been abroad can test their skills while re-acclimatising."
