KIRTON MOVES INTO TOP 20 IN KENTUCKY

Oldmeldrum's Lewis Kirton, a first-year student at Louisville University, Kentucky is lying joint 17th after two rounds of the Big East Conference college golf championship at the Cardinal Club, Simpsonville in Kentucky today.
After an opening round of 76, Lewis improved 11 places in the individual standings by matching the par of 72 in atrocious conditions of wind and rain for a 36-hole tally of 148 - nine shots behind team-mate Daryl Father who leads the field with 71 and 68 for 139.
Louisville (562) lead the team event by 16 shots from Notre Dame.
