LAURA MURRAY PIPS MICHELE THOMSON
IN ABERDEENSHIRE GIRLS OPENER

Robert Gordon University student Laura Murray (Alford) scored a confidence-boosting victory from Scotland girls international Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) in the opening event of the Aberdeenshire girls’season at Murcar Links today.
Laura, a former Scottish schoolgirls champion, had a gross round of 75 – three over the par – to total 34 Stableford points off her handicap of one.
North of Scotland women’s champion Michele, who also plays off one, had a 76 for 33pt.
In the Bronze Division, 13-year-old Deeside junior member Sophie Alexander, playing off 19, was the winner with 41pt.
