PABLO WINS BIG 12 CONFERENCE TITLE
Pablo Martin, the Spanish student who won on the European Tour as an amateur a few weeks ago, is back in the winners' circle on the American college golf circuit.
Pablo, a student at Oklahoma State University, won the Big 12 Conference championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club, Hutchinson, Kansas with rounds of 70,73 and 68 for a two-under-par total of 211 over the par-70, 6611yd course.
With a final round which included seven birdies and five bogeys, he won by three strokes from team-mate Ryan Posey (Oklahoma State) who shot 73, 73 and 68.
Oklahoma State (866) also won the team title by seven shots from Texas A&M (873) with Texas Tech (893) third and Texas (894) fourth of 12 teams.
Martin, a former British boys champion, will turn professional after the NCAA championships at the end of next month.
