12-YEAR-OLD MAGUIRE TWINS TO PLAY ALONGSIDE
LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR PROFESSIONALS
Ulster twins Lisa and Leona Maguire will both play in the Northern Ireland Ladies Open at Templepatrick next week.
The 12-year-olds from Co Cavan have both been given wild card entries to the event to compete with the top European players.
The official entry list was confirmed last night for the event which is played on June 1-3.
Back to back LET victor Nikki Garrett is confirmed to compete in the 126 professional player line up.
US Futures Tour competitor Brenda McLarnon, who hails from Belfast but is US based and Lynn McCool, the Strabane local who is K Club teaching professional, are also in the field. Australian Kirstie Newton, whose father Jack is a former Australian Open winner and runner up to Tom Watson in the Open in 1975, has inherited her father's love of the game and is consolidating her own burgeoning reputation as a respected professional golfer in looking for a top result at the NI Ladies Open.
The tournament has a prize fund of 200,000 Euros and will be broadcast to over 75 countries.Tickets, priced at £5 for a day pass or £10 for a three day weekend pass, with under 14s admiited free, are available through the Northern Ireland Events Company on 028 9066 6661 or via www.nievents.co.uk.
