ALISON DAVIDSON THROUGH
TO SEVENTH STIRLING AND CLACKMANNAN FINAL

Former Scottish champion and past Curtis Cup star Alison Davidson (pictured right) is through to her seventh final of the Stirling & Clackmannan women’s county championship.
The Stirling Golf Club member, who will be 39 next month, recaptured some of her old form to be five under par in winning her semi-final this evening by 6 and 5 against clubmate Elaine Allison at Alloa Golf Club.
Now No 2 seed Mrs Davidson, a mother of two who plays golf only once a week on average these days, will play Margaret Tough (Falkirk) in Friday’s final (5.30pm).
Margaret, the No. 4 qualifier, also played very well to be level par in beating the top seed, 18-year-old clubmate Louise MacGregor by 5 and 4.
Margaret Tough is in the final for the first time. Mrs Davidson won the title in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 2005. She was beaten in the finals of 2002 and 2003.

Results:
Semi-finals – M Tough (Falkirk) bt L MacGregor (Falkirk) 5 and 4, A Davidson (Stirling) bt E Allison (Stirling) 6 and 5.
