KATHRYN ONLY SCOT TO MATCH PAR
IN TENERIFE LADIES OPEN

Kathryn Imrie from Monifieth was the only Scots-based player to match the par of 72 in the first round of the Tenerife Ladies Open at Golf de Sur today.
The 39-year-old one-time winner on the LPGA circuit, but now back to play the Ladies European Tour full-time, birdied the second, fourth and sixth but then sagged with bogeys at the eighth, 12th and 17th to finish five shots behind Ana Sanchez (Spain), leader by one with a five-under 67.
On a day of low scoring, Clare Queen and Lynn Kenny were left trailing with rounds of 75 and 76 respectively. Clare had a double bogey 7 at the long fifth. Birdies at the fourth, seventh and 17th could not repair all the damage done elsewhere with bogeys.
Lynn could muster only one birdie, at the sixth.
Inverness-based New Zealandeer Liz McKinnon started with a triple-bogey 7 on her way to an outward half of 42. She needed birdies at the 10th, 12th and 17th to salvage a 77.
