BRAEHEAD’S SARAH WINS AT ARBROATH
Braehead Golf Club’s Sarah Walker won the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association’s Barnardo’s Grand Final at Arbroath Golf Club today.
Sarah, playing off nine of a handicap, totalled 36 Stableford points.
She won by 2pt from Lianne Muirhead (Stirling). Playing off 17, Lianne’s total of 34pt was matched by Heather Todd (Falkirk) (25) but Lianne had the better inward half.
Heather held on to third prize with a better last three holes than Elizabeth Goodwin (Glenverie), who also scored 34pt.
The par of the women’s course was 71 and the CSS 73.
A total of 49 players qualified from club competitions but six did not play in the Grand Final.
