LAURA LETS LEADING CHANCE SLIP
IN FINNISH WOMEN'S AMATEUR

Robert Gordon University student Laura Murray dropped three shots over the last three holes to fall back into a tie for 13th place at the end of the first round of the Finnish women's amateur international championship for the IBM Cup at Helsinki Golf Club today.
Alford-based Laura was up with the leaders when she reached the turn in level par 35, despite a hat-trick of bogeys from the fifth to the seventh. She balanced these blemishes with birdies at the first, fourth and ninth.
But the inward half cost Miss Murray 40 shots - a double bogey 6 at the 11 and a double bogey 7 at the long 17th as well as another shot dropped at the 16th. He only birdie on the way home was at the long 12th.
Laura will start the second round sixth shots behind pacemaker Marjet Van der Graaf. The Netherlands girl highlighted her two-under-par 69 with an eagle 3 at the 12th.
Rachael Livingstone (Old Musselburgh) did not have a single birdie in her 11-over 82 which left her sharing 27th place in a field of 36. She finished 5-6-6 against the card of 3-4-5.
