SALLY WATSON ONLY SCOT TO SURVIVE
THIRD ROUND OF BRITISH GIRLS

South Queensferry's Sally Watson is the only Scot through to the quarter-finals of the British girls' open amateur golf championship at Southerndown Golf Club, South Wales.
The 16-year-old member at Elie & Earlsferry Ladies Golf Club, beat the last Spaniard in the championship, Ana Urchegui by one hole to reach the last eight and a meeting with England's Henrietta Brockway from Yeovil.
Sally, beaten finalist last year in this championship, knocked out Miss Urchegui in the quarter-finals 12 months ago.
Miss Watson has already earned one trophy this week - the Todd Bowl as leading qualifier for the match-play stages.
Miss Brockway beat European Young Masters' girls champion Carly Booth (Comrie) by 4 and 2 this morning.
The other Scots to fall in the third round were Roseanne Niven (Crieff) and the No 2 seed, Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar).
Roseanne by beaten 2 and 1 by Charlie Douglass (Brocket Hall).
Miss MacDonald went down by 5 and 4 to Kelly Tidy from Manchester.
Irish twin Lisa Maguire had a good win over Florentyna Parker (Royal Birkdale), who was first reserve for the GB&I team for the recent Vagliano Trophy match against the Continent of Europe at St Andrews Bay.
