SCOTS GIRLS' GOOD START TO TITLE DEFENCE

Scotland play England tomorrow in what is very likely to be the title decider in the girls' home golf internationals at Southerndown Golf Club, South Wales.
Both countries looked a cut above the opposition in scoring big wins on a windy opening day.
Scotland, the defending champions, beat Ireland 7 1/2-1 1/2 after the Irish had held their own in the foursomes. Scotland won all six singles.
England whitewashed Wales 9-0, winning all three foursomes and six singles.
Biggest winners for Scotland in the singles were 16-year-old Sally Watson (Elie & Earlsferry), 6 and 5 over Victoria Bradshaw, and 18-year-ld Krystle Caithness, 5 and 4 over Stephanie Meadow.
