GEMMA KEEPS GOOD US FORM GOING

Glasgow's Gemma Webster has maintained the very good form of her last tournament - 10th in the "Mason Rudolph" - to be in joint sixth position with one round to go in the Lady Northern women's college tournament at the Penn State University's Blue course in Pennsylvania.
Gemma, a third-year student at Ohio State University, scored 72 and 76 for 148 - nine shots behind leader Kira Meixner (Kent State) with 66 and 73.
Starting at the eighth, Hilton Park GC member Gemma had birdies at the eighth, ninth and fifth in her second round. She had a double bogey 6 at the third. In her par-matchng first round, Gemma birdied the fourth, fifth and 16th.
Ireland international Tara Delaney (Kent State) was sharing 13th place on 152 after a pair of 76s which included a triple bogey 7 and a double bogey 5 at a short hole in her second round. She had four bogeys and no birdies in her first round.

LATIMER IN THE HUNT AT SUNSET BEACH

Peter Latimer from Markinch, Fife, a student a Guilford College, North Carolina was lying joint third on two-under-par 70 at the end of the first round of the Sea Trail Intercollegiate tournament over the Jones Course, Sea Trail Resort at Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
Team-mate Liam McGowan from St Andrews had a 73.
Steven Dressel (Elon University) led with a 67 over the 6,750yd course.

KIRTON DOWN THE LAFAYETTE FIELD

Oldmeldrum's Lewis Kirton, a second-year student at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, scored a pair of 79s to be sharing 60th place on 156 over a long course of 7,467yd, par-72 for the Ping Golfweek Preview college tournament at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex at Lafayette, Indiana.
Kirton had two triple bogeys and a double bogey within his first five holes in the first round. He had a double bogey 7 at the 15th in his second round.
Sweden's Jonas Enander Hedin (Charlotte) led the field with 69 and 71 for four-under-par 140.
England's Tom Sherreard (Georgia State) from Maidstone and Tom Oliver (Purdue) from Nottingham were in joint 12th and 32nd positions respectively. Sherreard scored 75 and 71 for 146 and Oliver 73 and 76 for 149.

The tournament was won by five strokes by Kyle Scott (West Florida) with 67, 65 and 68 for a 10-under-par total of 200.
