PROQUIP WORN BY WINNING US TEAM AT STORMY SOLHEIM CUP

North Berwick, September 19, 2007

Biting cold, wind and rain may have hampered three dramatic days at The Solheim Cup at Halmstad Golf Club, Sweden, but ProQuip’s ultra-lightweight team rain suits proved to be the ultimate winning weatherwear for Betsy King’s US team.
The American team wore ProQuip’s Ladies Ultralite rain suits and Ladies Silk Touch Half-Sleeve Windshields to beat the cold, blustery conditions and storm to an 8.5 to 3.5 final day singles win over the Europeans, and secure overall victory by 16 points to 12.
Richard Head, chief designer and managing director of ProQuip, said: “Congratulations to Betsy King and her players. The weather was a big factor in Sweden, and the performance of the U.S. Solheim team over three demanding days was incredible and proof that high-performance weatherwear, talent and determination can combine to produce great golf in any conditions.”
As the official weatherwear supplier to the U.S. Team, ProQuip custom-designed Ladies Ultralite suits, made from a specially designed laminated fabric exclusive to ProQuip, which is lightweight and soft, maximising comfort and minimising noise.
“ProQuip was chosen to outfit the U.S team after US Captain Betsy King and her assistant Beth Daniel visited our stand at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, tried samples and agreed the weatherwear surpassed even the high standards expected by their players,” added Head.
ProQuip also supplied weatherwear to LPGA staff members, and VIP’s, including LPGA Founders, board members and former Solheim Cup Captains.

More recently, the North Berwick based company was the preferred weatherwear supplier to the victorious 2006 European Ryder Cup team.Federation.
