ENGLAND WHIPS SCOTS IN UNDER-16
INTERNATIONAL AT PRESTWICK

England followed up their 9-6 win over Scotland in the men’s home internationals on Friday with an emphatic 12-3 win in the Under-16 boys’ match, hosted by Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club on Sunday.
“It was a disappointing way to end the season,” SGU junior coach Spencer Henderson told the SGU website.
The young Scots had scored a good win over North of England Under-16s the previous weekend and 12 months ago had scored their first win over England at this level.
The foursomes were tight and ended in a narrow 3-2 win for England, giving no hint of the afternoon landslide to come in the singles.
England took the one-on-one ties by a 9-1 margin.
Scotland’s only singles winner was Tom Blennerhasset (Dalmahoy), although, in fairness, it has to be said that three of the ties went to the 18th green.
