ANGUS COUNTY'S ADULT-JUNIOR GREENSOMES
A BIG HIT AT EDZELL: 44 PLAYERS TAKE PART

The inaugural inter-counties adult-junior modified greensomes competition, hosted by Angus county at Edzell Golf Club, proved to be a great success with 44 competitors from Angus, Fife, Stirling & Clackmannanshire and Perth & Kinross taking part.
Angus set the competition up with the express desire to get girls playing alongside county golf squad members, to encourage and inspire them to continue to improve their game.
The winners were Linda Allan and Alexis Hutton from Stirlingshire with 43 points.
Second were Elaine Allison and Alison Goodwin from Stirlingshire with 42 points.
Third were Lynne Fenton and Ashley Alston from Angus with 40 points, on the better inward half from Ashley Smith and Laura Hunter from Angus.
Best first nine holes prize went to Heather Peebles and Jemma Chalmers, Angus. Best second nine holes award went to Aileen Hunter and Alison Pryde Angus.
Nearest the hole winners were Sam Munro (Fife) and Rosie Hunter (Angus0. Shona Leighton and Megan Aird won a special prize.
The trophy was donated by Mary Summers, outgoing Angus Junior Secretary.
