BECKY AND FERN IN WINNING
BETHUNE- COOKMAN COLLEGE
TEAM AT RUTGERS
Becky Dowell from Thornecombe and Fern Grimshaw from Dorset were members of the title-winning Bethune-Cookman College team in the Rutgers Women's Invitational tournament at Rutgers University, Piscataway in New Jersey.
Becky, pictured right, had scores of 78 and 79 for 157 and finished fourth equal in a field of 98 behind winner Ellie Brophy (Yale) (76-74 for 150).
Fern scored 78 and 82 for 160 and joint ninth postion.
Also finishing on 160 was Yale University freshman Harriet Owers-Bradley from Nottinigham. She scored 84 and 76 over the par-72, 5,847yd course.
Bethune Cookman College won the team event with a total of 624, nine ahead of Yale and 18 in front of third-place St John's University.
